More than 300,000 locals depend on the Chronicle each week to negotiate the who, what, where, when, and why of our city. Seven days a week, in print and online, we’re breaking news stories; tipping readers off to the latest developments in the music, food, and arts scenes; and celebrating everything – from beloved institutions to exciting up-and-comers – that makes our city such a vibrant place to live and work.

Austin has also become a destination for internationally lauded music and film festivals, including the South by Southwest Festival, which was first conceived in our office by the founders of The Austin Chronicle. The Chronicle is the official print sponsor of SXSW and is unparalleled in its comprehensive, authoritative coverage. Of course, we’re not just a newspaper – we’re a member of the community. In addition to our marquee annual events like the Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival (the world’s largest) and the Austin Music Awards, the Chronicle regularly partners with local businesses – to host film series, candidate forums, sports events, music festivals, and much more.

DISTRIBUTION

The Chronicle currently prints 50,000 copies every week and is available at over 1,150 locations throughout the greater Austin area and surrounding communities in counter racks, freestanding racks, and newspaper boxes. These numbers are significantly reduced as a result of COVID-19 closures.
